The correct size should position the knee comfortably within the pad’s knee section.

    What is the difference between cane and foam/HDF batting pads?

    Traditional batting pads commonly use cane rods, while many modern pads use high-density foam (HDF) or a combination of materials. Cane provides the traditional structure and feel associated with cricket pads, while HDF can help reduce the overall weight of the pad. Higher-end pads may combine several protective materials to balance impact protection, weight and mobility.

    Should I choose lightweight batting pads or more protective pads?

    This mainly comes down to your preference for mobility, feel and protection.
